Questions and Answers!

July 8 -12. Bicentennial Park, Stockton Al.

Q: Hey man, we would love to play the festival. I just have a few questions about the system.
From what I've read, the stages sound like a first-come-first-serve kind of deal. They're "open performance areas", and if they're available, you can just go play on them?
I would love to play, but we're a seven-piece band. Bringing our own equipment is not a problem, but it might be difficult to ensure that we can round up all of the members with all of gear and grab a stage before another band takes it.
If this is in fact how the show works, would there be a way to actually reserve a spot? To be put on the roster for a specific time and stage?
Please let me know! I'd love for Indo Ghost Club to play the festival, I just want to make sure that it's going to work logistically.
Thanks!

A: Hi, good questions, and I will clarify this on the website. You will know what time you go on the main stages after you get signed in at the festival grounds.

We will open the gates on Thursday Mar. 11 so bands can start arriving and get their camps set up. There will be music in the evening. The Gauntlet competition starts Friday Morning at 8:00 with Coffee, Singers and Songwriters, bands will start at 10:00 am and runs through Sunday Night. You should be prepared to play on stage one to three times per day depending on your Gauntlet rankings.

As far as playing in any other performance areas, as a band, solo, or with other musicians, that is up to you. You can gain KUDOS playing anywhere and anytime, on the main stages, the Gauntlet stages or around a campfire.

Q: How do I make money in "The Gauntlet" competition.

A: Its easy, every time you play, anywhere in the festival, spectators who like your act give "Kudos" (Votes) You redeem "Kudos" for cash. (more info)

Q: If my band is eliminated from "The Gauntlet" competition, can I still redeem all of my "Kudos" for cash money?

A: Yes. All of your "Kudos" can be redeemed for cash. You can earn Kudos by playing the main stages, playing side stages or just playing around your camp.

Q: In "The Gauntlet" competition, can I give "kudos" to my own band?

A: There are many strategies acts may employ to get more "Kudos" but the fact is this, the best acts will rise to the top. The Judges will see to that. If you are the best, the Judges and the Audience will lift you up. If you suck, the Judges will tear you apart no matter how many "Kudos" you have.

Q: Can I bring my full band?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I bring the kids?
A: Yes

Q: This is Meluha,a singer from Belgium. I think this festival it's such a great idea for all musicians all over the world and I would like to participate in this. What I have to do? I ensure you this is worthing
     Kind regards,
     Meluha Sahara

A:
Hi Meluha,

The festival, by its very nature, is open to all musicians.

Q: Please check out Brooklyn Hall on Youtube. We think she is fantastic, but I'm her grandpa. Thanks, D*****n.
A:
Will do. You're a good grandpa.

Q: I live in Tunisia can l get place in this festival or just only for musician of USA ?
A:
Festival of Musicians is Open to ALL musicians! Yes, you are welcome

Q: Why are you doing this.
A: The purpose of this event is to showcase your act and add a large festival to your resume, as well as have fun meeting and interacting with your fellow musicians. (myself Included)

Q: How much is a Vendor Booth?
A: $299.99 for the whole fest or $100 per day. See
Vendors Artists/Painters and handcrafters pay $25.00 per day.

Q: Do I need my own sound equipment?
A:
We will provide some sound equipment, but If you would like more freedom in where and when you play your music, bring your musical gear, as there are open performance areas throughout the concert venue.

Q: Could you give me a little more information about times we would play and where we would setup. Do we need to bring all of our own equipment? What types of band contests are there?

A: There are separate competitions for bands, songwriters and singers.
We will have multiple main stages for live musical instrument performances. Also we will have qualifying performance areas for bands/singers/songwriters. All acts qualify during the day for featured spots in the night. Prizes and money are paid to the acts that the audience and the judges determine the Best Acts at the Festival of Musicians.

You DO need to bring some equipment because the competitions and big stages (yes they are nicely equipped) are only part of what the Festival of Musicians is all about.

This is actually a festival FOR musicians, and it is all about presenting our music to as large an audience as possible, and just as important, sharing our music with each other.

My vision for this thing is a concert at every car, lawn chairs, stages and LOTS of music. It is about individual musicians and what you can contribute to a large pool of musical talent. Expect many magical moments at this Festival of Musicians. It is a new concept. "Experimental" if you will.

Days begin with Coffee and Songwriters, moving on through "The Gauntlet" battle of bands, open jams, showcases, Singing Star competitions and featured local, national, and international performers going late into the night.

Immediately following the conclusion of this event, we will begin planning next years festival which will be OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Please accept our invitation to become a fundamental part of this new annual event.

Our goal is to unite musicians in a creative forum and create a spectacle that will bring us, collectively and individually, before the eyes of the world.

Just minutes from the
spectacular beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores  /Orange Beach Alabama  We are having an all out, non-stop 5 Day music party!
Days begin early with Coffee, Singers and Songwriters, moving on across multiple stages from The GAUNTLET Competition, Feature Showcases, and open jams, going long into the nights.

Plus tons of special events, games, contests, giveaways, cook outs/ BBQs, and fresh live music everywhere.
